Played my first couple of games recently at my local Wargames club against my son. For the first game I used a 76mm Sherman and a 75mm sherman (with my FoW Sherman V as a stand in) against a single Panther (no upgrades). The result was a resounding victory for the Panther.

We followed this up with me taking over the Panther while my son used a Sherman V and a Firefly (the 76mm Sherman standing in). This resulted in British victory although I did manage to take out one of the Shermans.

We both thoroughly enjoyed both games but, in future, I think I'll claim the grey dice in the starter set considering how many 6s (both as attacks and saves) he managed to make.

Just bide your time, my son was a dice demon but as he grew older his powers waned :)
Fortunately for me my dreadful dice rolling remained consistent so we saw no difference for me.

If you are within travelling distance to York we have a fun competition in March.
Four scenarios range from 80 to 160 points but I have way too many tanks (twice what my wife thinks i have :) ) so I could lend you some if you wanted.

Thanks for the offer. Unfortunately York is a little too far for me as I don't drive. However, I would be interested in finding any other players in the Mansfield area.
