Having just been beaten by my 9yr old (again!) a rule clarification is required.

The Blitzkrieg rule states that:

"This tank may make a single Move
instead of making a Repair Damage roll
in the Command Phase."

Does this mean that if the tank does not need to make a repair roll it does not get to use its Blitzkrieg ability?

That don't feel right to me, would have thought the tank could still move in command phase whether it was damaged or not.

That's what we thought, but the rule is ambiguous - you can read it either way. Hoping for a clarification from Sean at Tanks!

Yes, German tanks can use Blitzkrieg from the start of the game.
The trade off with the repair roll is there to create an early-game tactical advantage that slowly goes away as the battle progresses.

Having a think about it

This is an excellent rule that really fits with the Germans, the early in-game advantage and then having to decide between repair and keeping on going which was sort of the Germans undoing both in terms of vehicle mechanical reliability and maintenance but also in general terms of attrition. Think Germans will be my primary force

It's quite common to see germans in war games and video games using blitzkrieg to be faster than the enemy, it's a nonsense, its not a magical attribute but a bigger scale tactic. i don't like it but at least seems to be balanced here, and more or less fits the game.
