Seems as if the Crusader III with 6pdr is the only variant deemed worthy of inclusion. Can understand the CS not being included as they were not intended to fight other tanks. 2pdr version though is an odd one as gun would be comparable to that on the Honey.

I haven't assembled mine yet so I could be wrong, but isn't this the short barrel?

Thanks, I will take a look. Nannyogg on eBay tell me that the Honey is still only a pre-order but I bought one from Entoyment in Poole a couple of weeks ago. Very odd.

You have to remember the PzIII Long and PzIII Short refer to the 50mm guns not the short 75 which will be on the N

Gonna build my two as the N. Got some spare skirts from the Panzer IV kits.

I noticed the honey comes with a short barrel and long barrel gun. Didn't know there was a short

Me neither.

Wonder if it's a flamethrower for an M3 Satan as used by the USMC?

Sounds like you're right.

"The M3 Satan and the M3A1 Satan are a flamethrower variant of the M3 Stuart. The 37mm M6 gun was replaced with a Ronson flamethrower. 20 tanks were converted for US Marine Corps in 1943".

Wonder how those would work in tanks. Flamethrowers are certianly capable of causing a tank a problem

They weren't intended as anti tank weapons. Far too vulnerable to even the slightest hit.

And the weapon had an extremely short range.

In FOW they would probably be destroyed before they got close enough to use them.
In TANKS short range using shoot & scoot, good question.

Maybe TANKS staff could come up with something!
I hope everyone saves their extra parts.

I'm not aware of any tank mounted flamethrowers ever being used against other tanks - still the gaps in my knowledge are bigger than the bits I know about :-)

The real world problems are already mentioned - range, and ammunition. If you can get over the historical references, and let's be honest if you are playing Tanks you are already well out there in the wtf area, then you would need to restrict it to range 1. After that it depends on what you think the effect will be. I would suggest you ignore all armour but only have a fairly low attack. As I said I have no idea what the effect would be - but crews would almost certainly bail out from a burning tank.

I don't think its worth including but your mileage may vary

Flame tanks in the game are not for me. Obviously something as thinly armoured as an M3 filled with flammable liquid would be a fireball after one hit from virtually any other tank.

The Churchill Crocodile had its own fuel trailer. The Churchill itself had great armour but the armour on the trailer was only about 12mm thick I believe so again one hit and you are toast.

I prefer to keep my games just a little bit historical if possible. Flame tanks are just for dealing with bunkers.
