Looking Good

If you're like me, you've probably spent tons of time hunting for a way to change your profile image, AKA avatar on this forum to no avail. The obvious choice is to click on your name in the upper left of every page, and start hunting through the options, only to come up empty handed.

Well, what you might not have known is that you have a second profile settings page, one only available by finding the Profile button at the bottom of every page:



From here you can click on the blue Edit Profile button to access your settings. Within this page you'll see all kinds of useful stuff, like password management and the ability to change your display name and associated email address.

You'll note some other useful tabs at the top:

Communications - Here you can adjust how often the Tanks forum is allowed to email you to notify you of replies to topics, private messages, etc.

Manage Services - You probably don't want to touch anything on this page. By default you should be subscribed to the "Subscribers" subscription. It's my belief that this is the service that actually sends you emails when you subscribe to forum posts or receive PMs.

Manage Profile - Here we go! There are a lot of things to see on this page, and I'd encourage you to poke around a bit, but for now let's scroll down and click on Preferences.

All the way at the bottom of the options that pop up, you'll find Photo. Click the upload button to upload an avatar! Don't worry if it looks initially like your avatar is being cropped into a tiny corner by the website, it'll look normal once you exit.
