Awesome. If these actually come out, it goes a LONG way to building bridges as I just posted in other thread.
Kelvin Griffiths, Attack Wing Captain, Lord Of Rings Hero and Tank Commander. Sort of...

There are six desert mats scheduled as well. Three "now" and three "US Desert". Hopefully we will see them sooner than later.

I'm guessing that M3A1 Sherman is a typo and should be M4A1.

It will be interesting to see what they do with the Priest as it is artillery not an anti-tank weapon.

It'll probably be like a pz.III short.

It may be able to shoot over buildings as that makes sense, wonder about wording as PZ IV short already has artillery keyword

Not sure if it should be able to move and shoot so it wouldn't benefit from national rule.

Not sure it should be in the game at all but I guess we need all the new models we can get.

The Priest is in there because theyre releasing it in plastic for FoW. It will need careful balancing to work on Tanks I suspect .

BTW the other option on the M3 Sherman is that it actually is a Lee. I already have the UK Grant sprue and it contains all the bits to build a Lee, so it is posssible (probable?) that they will reuse it like they did the Wolverine\Jackson\Achilles sprue

You are probably right...but I thought somewhere I saw both listed, a Lee, and an M3A1...

So no cast hull Sherman then... :-(

Edit: I see on a preorder site, they list Tanks49 as the Lee and Tanks47 as the M3A1 Sherman. So maybe it is the cast hull version.

Having the Priest on the same gaming table as 'real' tanks will make this even more of a fantasy game.

Shame they didn't incorporate the plastic towed anti tank guns into the game instead.

It makes sense. Does it list a U.S. M3 Stuart? It seems strange not to give the U.S. one.

Thats a lot of rules for a keyword, PZ IV short has artillery keyword:
When this tank shoots it may shoot at tanks blocked by other tanks

Makes no sense for a priest or other SPG, but tanks tends to have simple rules 105 sherman may be a better fit

Priest means we may also get a sexton for British

Totally different vehicle so unlikely to be available from the plastic Priest kit. Of course the UK used Priests as well, they only dropped them when the Sexton became available to harmonise ammunition supply to the Field Regiments

Its possible, the grant sprue also has the bits for lee so not impossible to be a 25pdr on the sprue, unless the chassis was different as well.

Lots of differences, not just the gun

The Sexton used the Ram chassis and had different internal arrangement (driver sat on the opposite side for instance. The M7 Priest used the M3 Lee chassis initially then switched to a Sherman hull (for the A1 IIRC?) . That's not to say they couldn't do both on one sprue as the Lee and the Ram used the same running gear, but you would end up with having to include everything new from tracks up, so its unlikely.
