Courlande pocket, Décember 1944.

With ice coming, the 3rd Bielorussian front launch a massive offensive on december 21st.
The objectif is to crush the Courlande pocket. Despite Heavy artillery shelling, the infantry progress is slow with heavy loss. On the second day, Heeres-Panzerjäger-Abteilung 731 counter attack to retake the village of Balki. Kept in réserve the 3rd Kompanie met a JS2

Each player deploy in opposite corner. Each player, starting with the german player put terrain piece alternatively

Historical note : Heeres-Panzerjäger-Abteilung 731 was equiped with Jagdpanzer 38t Hetzer.

Aftermath :
The JS2 opened fire first. His shots were too short by 100m. Three more shots follow, short too. The germans thought than the russian optics were deficient ou it has an inexperienced crew. One Hetzer set up Hull down et opend fire on the russian leviathan to keep his attention on him. During this time, the second Hetzer made a flanking movement to have a better fire position. A lot of german hits is scored. Because no reaction is seen, the german though that the russian crew was stunned. Sudennly Fire was seen from the engine. The beast was beaten.
