Battle report

Cool City Games
Port Huron, Mi. 48060
April 8, 2017

Germans – 2 players - 150 points each

2x Tigers
3x Panthers
4x Panzer IV
1x StuG
1x Puma
1x PaK wagon

Russian – 3 players – 100 points each

2x IS 2
1x IS 85
1x Isu 122
2x Su100
1x T34/76
2x T34/85

We deployed along both edges of a 2map layout. The German player s deployed 1 Tiger, 3 Panthers and a Panzer IV in the city while the rest of their force grouped up near the lower right edge of the battlefield. Opposing them from the bottom up where 2 IS 2 and T34/76, the middle had 1 Isu122 and 2 Su100's and in the city were 2 T34/85 and a IS 85.

First few turns found the Germans attacking near the bottom of the map and the northern German force holding its ground and shifting to the south.

The only losses were a German Puma and StuG in the first four turns. The German Tiger and one of the Russian IS 2's were heavily damaged.

The 2 T34/85 moved across the map behind the church and attacked the flank of the Germans in the town.

The Russian assault guns managed to take out both German Tigers while the Russians finally lose a IS 2.

Here an IS 2 and T34 chased down a Panzer IV which broke thru there lines. The Isu 122 takes on the PaK Wagon and an IS 2 is left dealing with 2 Panzer IV's.. In the city the IS 85 and Su 100 take on a Panther and the 2 T34/85 slug it out with the other 2 Panther's.

2 of the 3 Panthers finally fall but the Russians are hurting rally bad. A Su 100 is killed by the PaK Wagon.

Splendid!

I fully approve of the size of the battle (although maybe a little small :) )

As always, good to see the Heroes of the Soviet Union coming up with the goods.

The IS-2s and T-34/76 at the bottom of the grass map were mine. This is the 2nd time I've played the Soviets and I've decided I quite enjoy them. I like the speed of the T-34s and Su-85, the high attack values, the best national ability of the 4 factions, and the durability of the big tanks. I still love my Brits but the Russians bring a lot of options and versatility.
