Hey there,

i was thinking about mxing up germans with us shermans for displaying "Kampfgruppe X".
Now i wanna know what u think about this.

I would take the point cost of the sherman (75mm) and use the same model. For the panther i would use the Ersatz M10/Panther and disguised StuG.

Would look something like this:
- 1 Panther
- 2 Sherman (75mm)
- 1 StuG

Would be around 87 Pts, adding some Upgrades (only germans) and voila 100 Pts. ;)

I think its a nice idea and will look cool. Or do you think its some cheese way to expand the roster of tanks avabile for germans? :P

Well, it's a fact, that the German used captured tanks. The Soldiers call them humorous "German Sherman" *lol*
Here is a link to the german wikipdia, where I've found this
https://de.wikipedia.org...insatz_bei_der_Wehrmacht

On my gaming table that would be perfectly fine

P.S.:
Indeed I think about an allied Force, with american, british and french Tanks.
A kind of mixed army too.
And I think about to paint my Sherman M4A2 new, to use him with my german Tank force.
That's all a kind of arrangement between the Players in your group.
Fun is the only thing that should count :)

I don't really think it should be much of an issue, certainly not when your playing with friends. It goes even further for me as I want to use this game to do Girls und Panzer matches.

I also plan on putting together a mixed unit. My plan is to convert some T34 to become part of a German force. As noted captured tanks were indeed used by others. The forces would be themed around the eastern front 43 to 44. I believe they were called Beute Panzers. If there are no formal rules I just will house rule something simple. Base tank but only global upgrades for example. In any case it helps to change things up a bit and model something a bit different.

Have a half remembered recollection of a star trek attack wing rule where you could use another factions card but you had to pay an extra point in cost

I play Star Trek Attack Wing. Yes, you must pay a "faction penalty", when you use a Crew or upgrade, that is from another faction. Most it will be 5 points of penalty. For a house rule and fun games this is a good way, but I don't know if a mixed collection of tanks is allowed in the Organized Play?

I believe Organised play is strictly build upon the official rules.

You could have it as an upgrade card, perhaps even a nation-specific one: "Lend Lease", "Unexpected Ally", "Captured Tank".

"You may field a BRITISH tank costing 20 points or fewer. This tank loses the Semi-indirect Fire keyword and gains Coordinated Fire."

It could be a Commander card, to prevent you comboing potentially "broken" things, like (maybe) Wittman in a Super Pershing.

It could be a Hero card, so you couldn't have more than one non-national tank.

I certainly like the idea of an upgrade card. The title Lend Lease is a great suggestion, as is Captured Tank. They could be limited like a hero card as FMC suggests as a way to balance things. Makes sense to me and is another way to mix things up on the table top. As it stands it is likely a house rule kind of thing perhaps for scenarios or even as part of a campaign where the victor has the opportunity to use captured tanks in the next battle.
