so we have a quick and neat version of FoW....it is called Tanks...I love it...
so what about a similar version for Team Yankee ???...maybe even more modern...like circa 2017...US , UK , France , Germany , Russia , China , Israel to mention a few...

In the german forum "Panzerschreck" (http://panzerschreck.forumieren.com/) I asked for this Idea. And what to say ... the most People are very lucky about it :D Go on, Gf9, and give us a Tanks-Game in a alterntive History with Leopards, Helis and the same lot of fun like Tanks is :D We are still waiting for more stuff :D Edited by user Wednesday, November 16, 2016 11:44:50 PM(UTC)

Personally I would rather they keep focusing on WW2. Especially until they get some of the shipping bugs worked out.

I agree. Tanks is an off-shoot of Flames of War for those that want a quick beer and pretzel tank game. If they add planes, why not infantry. Then you are playing FOW.

I have to agree. I have seen some games that start off with a great base, but get expansion after expansion, and eventually bog down with too many rules and add-ons. There are plenty of armored vehicles yet to be introduced: I'd like to see those, and _not_ start bringing in a lot of extra new rules for infantry, aircraft, etc. Edited by user Sunday, November 20, 2016 12:53:21 PM(UTC)

I think that there is a delicate balance between introducing new components to a game and still keep it simple and interesting to play. I also very much agree that there are still many of more appropriate armored vehicles to be added & I too would like to see those added first. Which to get back to the original post; is why I am not really a fan of the idea of starting a Tanks Team Yankee version at this time. I apologize to the Original Poster for causing this thread to become about adding planes when it is supposed to be about whether or not people would like to see a Team Yankee version. (My bad.)

Well, I don't see how some fan cards for modern tanks will damage the game. If people want to add planes and other stuff to their own games, then I see no real problem. Heck, if GF9 were to add modern tanks, then that really should not be a problem either. If you want to stick with WW2, then just do it. I truly doubt GF9 moves to moderns any time soon.

The rules & mechanics are irrelevant. Quick tank on tank battles is what made TANKS popular. Junking it up with too many peripherals will turn off many new players that just want to get into quick tank battles that fit into their schedules. And I feel that a good portion of the new people playing this primer game will eventually switch to FOW (which might be the reason FOW/GF9 came out with this game).
