Hi Tankers,
I had a rules discussion this week about the effect of the critical card:
Damaged Optcis (Tank has -2 Attack. Discard after this tank shoots, Repairable)
Following situation happend.
A enemy tank with higher initiative shoot (Ini 7 for example) in round 2.
I shoot back at initiative 5 and caused a unsaved critical hit
and the card Damaged Optics was drawn for my enemy.
He discarded the card at the end of round 2 and said that he allready shoot
and the effect was gone.
Now my question. The card and effect is repairable.

Hi,
I see it that the cards effect isn't in play until it's dealt, so if it's dealt After the target has fired that turn then it will remain in play until the next shooting phase or until it's repaired at the end of the turn in which it was dealt.
The fact that it can be repaired tells me that the designers gave you the option to repair before the next turn or carry it over and face the penalty whilst shooting.
That's my view on it.

I agree 100% with Neil.
The card isn't in play until it is drawn, your opponent has already shot so it carries on until the next turn unless he repairs it in the turn 2 Command Phase.
Your opponent is being a, well, I can't describe him without being barred from the forum :)

Card says discard NEXT time the tank shoots, how could he think otherwise!

Unless you end up with the damaged optics of course, and then change to correct rule the time after, only fair after all :)
